  2. Soooo pretty! I am so jealous of your morning glory! Every year I plant them and every year I have leaves but no flowers. Some year I am going to figure out why! Do you get grapes off your vine? Do you eat them? We planted a grapevine this year that is getting beautiful grapes, but I have to admit I don't know much about the plant. Have a terrific weekend!!!

PS-Jealous of your lavander too- wish I could smell it through the computer!!

  4. Thanks for the kind comments! It's a beautiful yard that was here when we moved in because a gardener totally landscaped the place. So I just maintain and add little bits here and there (the morning glory, lavender, and impatiens are my additions).

I did put in some regular lavender and a pretty blue delphineum but the dog took a dislike to the lavender and kept digging it up repeatedly until it died. And he took to sitting on the delphineum, despite the 3 stakes around it he just pushed them out of the way. Bad dog.

The grapevine hasn't produced fruit yet, it just grows there and started so early this year that I got that trellis to tame it a little last Spring. I did plant pink morning glory there (last year the blue morning glory went nuts and got huge in that same spot), but the grapevine stole the spotlight this year.

Morning glories, I don't know how either. I never had any luck with them previously; all leaves and few blooms. My mom in NY compliains of the same problem. I suspect that gardener made a lot of soil improvements. Good luck!

  5. Very lovely. The heat of July has not been kind to many of our plants but hopefully, things will recover and live through the winter.
